Shannon Banta
Communications & Events
Shannon Banta manages communications and events for AMBayArea. Shannon began working with manufacturers in 2014 with East Bay Manufacturing Group (AMBayArea’s predecessor). Shannon received her bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific in Communication and Public Relations. She has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, including event management, print and online communications, media relations and community relations. Mark Martin, Ph.D.
Development
Mark Martin, Ph.D., is the Development Director for AMBayArea helping the organization to grow and meet the evolving needs of members. Mark has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing and engineering, including product development, manufacturing and design research, teaching, and workforce development — at the high school, community college, university, and professional development levels. He received an MBA in Management and Manufacturing from MIT Sloan School of Management, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Matt Trocker
Workforce Development
Matt Trocker is the Ambassador Program Coordinator for AMBayArea focusing on linking teachers with manufacturing ambassadors who can share insights and opportunities to the next generation of manufacturers. Matt has over a decade of experience developing and leading career and technical education programs for colleges and high schools in the Bay Area in an effort to attract more bright young people into rewarding, important, and impactful careers in Manufacturing. In addition to educators, he worked alongside myriad partners and advisors including community groups such as the Lao Family Foundation, city and county workforce development boards, and leaders in industry and manufacturing to ensure that the programs were meeting the needs of all stakeholders.
