AMBayArea Ambassador Program
About the Ambassador Program
The AMBayArea Manufacturing Ambassador Program connects manufacturers with students, parents, and educators to raise awareness of manufacturing careers.
The manufacturing ambassadors are well-spoken employees who play a front-facing role in the community. They bring a message of inspiration, passion, and drive to students who may not be aware of manufacturing and who someday may consider a career in the industry.
This work is carried out in partnership with the region’s Workforce Development Boards, Bay Area Community Colleges, Bay Area LEEDS, The Manufacturing Institute, Earn & Learn, and Bay Area schools.
What do the Ambassadors talk about?
The Ambassadors received guidance on relating to students and preparing to speak in the classroom setting – telling their story, talking about their company and their role within it, and mentioning some pertinent manufacturing info for California and the country at large.
The Ambassadors share their stories of how they decided to train for their specific job, the details of the post-secondary education and training, and what their current job entails. They are happy to talk about the benefits of working at their company, and answer questions from students and teachers.
