The Association of Manufacturers Bay Area (AMBayArea) and Bay Area Community Colleges (BACC) partnered to host the 3rd Annual Golf Benefit on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Lake Chabot Golf Course in Oakland.
The event, which began with lunch followed by a shot-gun start, provided an afternoon of golf and networking while raising funds for students studying the skilled trades.

The Golf Benefit 2023 was made possible by Ace Sponsor M.A.R.S. Engineering, Eagle Sponsor Santini Foods, Prize Sponsor CHawk Technology, and Hole Sponsors Manex, Pearson Electronics, Silicon Valley Elite Manufacturing, Sensiba, and Workforce Development Boards (of Alameda County, Contra Costa County, City of Oakland and Richmond).
The winning twosome included Shawn Sharma and James Cacatian of CHawk Technology. Closest to the Hole was secured by Casey Vandevanter of CHawk Technology. The winners received aluminum trophies milled by Laney College students.
More than $4,500 in net proceeds was raised from the event and will go to the AMBayArea Skilled Trades Student Scholarship Fund. AMBayArea presents local community college students studying in skilled trades programs with scholarships each spring and fall. Eight $500 scholarships have been awarded since the inception of the fund in 2021.
In August, $500 scholarships were awarded to the following recipients (pictured below):
Brent Emoff, Laney College Industrial Maintenance Program
