Heroes MAKE America

The Manufacturing Institute created the Heroes MAKE America program in an effort to build a pipeline from military to manufacturing careers for transitioning service members. It is a full-time, 10-week career skills program.

Manex Consulting

Manex has a $1 million contract for Employment Training Panel (ETP) funding to help Northern California manufacturing businesses. Eligible companies can use these ETP funds towards training programs including Lean Manufacturing, FSMA Compliance & Food Safety, ISO Training and more.


The Employment Training Panel (ETP) is a state agency that funds the costs of vocational training. ETP is governed by an eight member panel and is funded by a tax on employers, collected alongside the unemployment insurance tax.

Third party program managers, such as Manex or Training Funding Source, provide the support necessary so that the manufacturer can focus on their business while getting, free high quality training for their staff.

Small Business Administration

The Small Business Administration (SBA) helps businesses find funding, including grants for research and development and grants for exporting.

Lend EDU

LendEDU provides a filterable grant search tool, allowing small business owners and entrepreneurs to input criteria to look for a particular grant.



StopWaste offers companies and institutions in Alameda County free help to lower operating costs, increase efficiency, and protect the environment through recycling improvements.

Santa Clara County CESQG Program

Businesses that generate small quantities of hazardous waste may qualify to use the Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG) program through the Santa Clara County Household Hazardous Waste Program.
